(tepukan gemuruh) Baik... Baik... Bertenang... Baik... Seterusnya dipersilakan pula perwakilan seterusnya untuk menyampaikan teks ucapan beliau pula, dipersilakan... Politikus 2: Kita mesti mensupremokan pemimpin2 parti, sebab realitinya inilah sahaja kondisi untuk kita merealisasikan visi pucuk pimpinan yang memang tradisi ialah hendak merapatkan barisan dan memperkasakan jatidiri parti, dalam menghadapi serangan pembangkang yang kian bersifat ektrimi, ektrima... kian bersifat... eks... seterima... bersifat... apa nama ni... 'aaa... bersifat... eks-sete-rima... Pengerusi: Eks-tre-mis-me! (deraian ketawa bertambah kuat) Politikus 2: Iyelah, Tuan Pengerusi, itulah... (deraian ketawa menggegar dewan) teruskan saje lah ucapan... teruskan... (ketawa berderai lagi) Politikus 2: Terimakasih, Tuan Pengerusi... 'aaa... dari mula baliklah, Tuan... (deraian ketawa) dah hilang feel dia tadi... (ketawa berderai lagi) 'aaa... Kita mesti mensupremokan pemimpin2 parti, sebab realitinya inilah sahaja kondisi untuk kita merealisasikan visi pucuk pimpinan yang memang tradisi ialah hendak merapatkan barisan dan memperkasakan jatidiri parti, dalam menghadapi serangan pembangkang yang kian bersifat... eks-seteri-mima... dalam dayasaing mereka sehingga sanggup menggunakan i... dea-lisme... ko... munis-me... se... bagai... mo-ti-vasi mereka dalam... me... mani-pu-lasi minda rakyat! Ye, sekian, terimakasih! (ketawa kuat berderai lagi) ****************************** Si-Emak berjalan masuk ke ruang tamu dari dapur... Emak: Apa yang abang tengok; seronok sangat ni? Saya tak faham sepatah apa pun yang diaorang dok terpekik2 tu? Ayah: Abang saja je tengok... lucu gelagat diaorang ni... Milah: Diaorang tu siapa, ayah? Ayah: Diaorang semua ni politikus... Milah: Patutlah... mak tak faham... Milah lagi tak faham... rupa2nya diaorang cakap guna bahasa tikus, ye ayah?! Catatan: Tugasan mengintai ditamatkan serta-merta di sini kerana didapati tidak menepati tujuan asal, iaitu mempelajari dan memahami bahasa orang2 Melayu, bukannya bahasa para Tikus! | LET'S LEARN AND UNDERSTAND: THE MALAY LANGUAGE Learned men often remind us, the best and most effective way to hold a strong command on the native language of any race is by living together within the community of that race, and learn their language through observing, listening, and practising orally. Dying, or sleeping like a log, does not give the best opportunity to learn about anything that moves or makes sound on the face of the earth. By living together, we would be able to discover the richness of the vocabulary of their language; we would also be able to hear the right way of how each word is pronounced – how long or how short is the pronunciation, where is the stress placed, how a letter sounds or is muted, how two words spelled exactly the same but are pronounced differently would convey different meanings, et cetera; and we would be able to analyze how and when the varied words are utilised to form any daily sentence which is clearly understood in its contextual meaning with spontaneous ease. Armed with this piece of advice by the learned people, let us now take a peek into the home of a Malay family, to understand their language deeper (not peeking for immoral or naughty reasons!)... Visiting the House of a Malay Family Venue: In a village in Kuala Selangor Target: A house within the village which is inhabited by a Malay family consisting of the father, mother, and a daughter aged around 5-6 years. Observation: The daughter is standing in front of the television inside the living room, watching cartoon. The father walks into the living room from the direction of the kitchen. Father: Eh Milah, enough cartoons, okay... dad wants to watch the live telecast of the UMNO's assembly... The father takes the remote controller and changes to the RTM channel, while taking his place on the rattan sofa... ****************************** Television broadcst: Politician 1: ... bla bla bla... transformation... bla bla bla... commitment... dedication... bla bla bla... vision... mission... bla bla bla... integrity... bla bla bla... polarisation... bla bla bla... relevant... bla bla bla... globalisation era! Chairman: Thank you delegate for a speech that is so deep... (thunderous applause) Okay... Okay... Calm down... Okay... Next please welcome the next delegate to present his speech, please proceed... Politician 2: bla bla bla... “supremo-fy”... bla bla bla... reality... bla bla bla... condition... bla bla bla... realisation... vision... bla bla bla... tradition... bla bla bla... bla bla bla... bla bla bla... “ ektrimi, ektrima”... bla bla bla... “ex... seterima”... bla bla bla... “ex-sete-rima”... Chairman: You wrote that yourself, you yourself cannot read it? (laughter) “Extremism”, you mean? Politician 2: ... bla bla bla... bla bla bla... bla bla bla... “ex-seteri-mima”... Chairman: “Ex-tre-mism”! (laughter gets louder) Politician 2: ... bla bla bla... bla bla bla... bla bla bla... “ex-seteri-mima”... Chairman: Okay, “ex-tre-mism”, “ex-wife-mima”, “sex-wife-mimi”, whatever... (resounding laughter shakes the hall) just continue with your speech... go on... (more laughter) Politician 2: ... bla bla bla... from the beginning again, sir... (laughter) the feel was lost already just now... (more laughter)... bla bla bla... “supremo-fy”... bla bla bla... reality... bla bla bla... condition... bla bla bla... realisation... vision... bla bla bla... tradition... bla bla bla... bla bla bla... bla bla bla... “ex-seteri-mima”... bla bla bla... “i... dea-lism”... “com... munism”... bla bla bla... “mo-ti-vation”... bla bla bla... “mani-pu-lation”... mind...! Yes, that's all, thank you! (loud laughter again) Note: Basically only words of English origin (but adapted as Malay words) are displayed in this translation, while the rest, mainly native Malay words are omitted from display. ****************************** The mother enters the living room from the kitchen... Mother: What are you watching, honey; you seem so excited? I cannot understand a word of what those guys were screaming about? Father: I am merely watching... these guys with their funny antics... Milah: Who are they, daddy? Father: These guys are all (poly-rats)... Milah: No wonder... mommy doesn't understand... let alone Milah... apparently they are talking using rat language, right daddy?! Note: The task of peeking is immediately ended here because it is found not fulfilling the original objective, which is to learn and understand the language of the Malay people, not the language of rats! |
